Offered for sale is this Clockwork Fire Engine House manufactured by The Ives Manufacturing Company sometime in the 1890's. Ives was a company out of Plymouth, Connecticut and mostly known for their trains. This piece is a combination of wood with a cast iron face, cast iron dentil molding and windows with a clockwork mechanism that sounds a bell and releases the doors to allow a horse drawn pumper carriage to roll on out. A great early American piece that has been paired with an antique Kenton cast iron fire pumper wagon from around 1915. Clockwork is working and key is included.
